Slashdot article on freelance tech support

Slashdot pointed to an interesting article written by a free-lance tech support guy. I’ve wondered about all those fliers I see around the neighborhood, taped up to to lamp posts, advertising “computer help”. I wonder how well they do, and how much hustling and glad-handing they have to put in to find clients. Well, this article and its companion piece is an interesting look into that world from someone who’s been doing freelance since the last recession.

Actually, looking at the articles more carefully, I feel I should sell myself to Grace’s friends and coworkers, all those physicians-in-training. The primary skills are knowing how to learn continuously and responsible client contact.
